What to do in Berlin on 3 October
- Government quarter: the Reichstag and the Brandenburg Gate are the natural setting for this celebration of the country's unity. Book the Reichstag dome in advance.
- Wall history: the Berlin Wall Memorial and the East Side Gallery tell the story of division and then reunification. See also the fall of the Wall.
- A festival weekend: in October the Festival of Lights lights up the city; see the dates in Berlin in autumn.
Our recommendation
To understand what this date celebrates, a guided tour of the government quarter and the Reichstag is the best choice: you follow the route of reunification with precise landmarks.
