Body Worlds Berlin (Körperwelten): tickets, opening hours and what you see

Updated on October 15, 2026

The Körperwelten (Body Worlds) museum displays real human bodies preserved by plastination, a process that replaces the water and fat in tissue with plastic. Located at Panoramastraße 1A, at the foot of the TV tower and a short walk from Alexanderplatz, it offers the "A Journey Under the Skin" show: the body's systems, from skeleton to organs, are shown on whole bodies posed in action, like players or dancers caught in motion. The visit is bilingual German and English, wheelchair accessible and air-conditioned. The subject is frank: these are authentic human bodies, with diseased organs shown next to healthy ones. A visit worth preparing for, especially with children.

Highlights

The entrance at the foot of the TV tower

The entrance at the foot of the TV tower

The museum occupies the base of the Fernsehturm: the steps and the glass ticket office face Alexanderplatz, so you cannot miss it. Afterwards, go up the TV tower for the view over the city.

Bodies in motion

Whole plastinated bodies are shown in sporting or everyday poses, with the skin removed, to show muscles, tendons and the skeleton at work.

Organs and diseases

Organs are presented on their own or in cross-section, sometimes next to diseased ones, which gives the visit an educational character.

The audio guide

A free audio tour is available on your smartphone through the museum's wifi, in German and English; an audio guide can also be rented.

Booking online avoids the queue at the ticket office; a [ticket for the Körperwelten exhibition](https://www.getyourguide.com/berlin-l17/berlin-ticket-fur-die-korperwelten-ausstellung-t81117/) is also offered on GetYourGuide, to compare with the official price. Allow about 1.5 hours for the visit. The subject can be striking: judge it according to your children's sensitivity. For other indoor ideas, see Berlin on a rainy day and Berlin with children.
