The essentials at a glance
| Option | Duration | Indicative price | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Direct EuroCity | 4 h 55 to 5 h 30 | from 30 euros (advance Europe fare) | most travellers: no change |
| Train with one change | about 5 to 7 h | varies | if the direct times do not suit you |
Our recommendation: the direct train, booked as early as possible. It is the only option with no change, and it runs about every two hours.
Which station in Berlin?
Until summer 2026 the Warsaw trains left from the central station. According to the information we found, they leave from Berlin Gesundbrunnen from 25 August to 12 December 2026 because of work on the central line (the Stadtbahn), then return to the central station. Check the station printed on your ticket. From Gesundbrunnen the S-Bahn and U-Bahn reach the centre in a few minutes: see our guide to Berlin public transport and to the central station.
Tickets: where and how to buy
- Book ahead: the lowest fares (about 29.99 euros in second class on the sites we checked) go first and are tied to one train.
- A seat reservation is compulsory on these EuroCity trains; it is usually included in the ticket price.
- Two possible sellers: Deutsche Bahn (bahn.de) and PKP Intercity. Compare them, since prices and exchange conditions differ.
- Arrival: Warszawa Centralna is in the heart of the city, within walking distance of the main hotels.
How long to allow
Plan for half a day: about 5 hours on the train plus getting to the station. A morning departure leaves you an evening in Warsaw. To sleep before leaving, see the hotels near Berlin central station.
Good to know before you buy
The December 2025 timetable was reworked and the station change is temporary. The Paris–Berlin link, also disrupted, is covered in Paris to Berlin by train. Arriving by air? See Berlin BER airport.
