Which to choose
If your flight leaves before 8 am, book on site: the walk is short and you skip the first train. Otherwise central Berlin is nicer and often cheaper; see our hotels near the central station and where to stay in Berlin.
What to avoid
Do not book a "Berlin Airport" hotel without checking which one: the old Tegel airport closed and some listings predate that. Note also that the airport station is served by S-Bahn and regional trains: see BER airport for first and last train times.
