Konzerthaus Berlin: tickets, prices, tours and programme (2026-2027)

Updated on October 25, 2026

The Konzerthaus Berlin is the concert hall on the Gendarmenmarkt, in a neoclassical Schinkel building opened in 1821 as a theatre and reopened in 1984 as a concert hall after wartime destruction. It is home to the Konzerthausorchester Berlin and one of the loveliest halls in the city. Concerts start around €22 for small ensembles in the Kleiner Saal and pass €50 for big nights in the main hall; the guided tour lasts about 75 minutes, in German. Prices and dates come from online sources seen in October 2026; check them on the official site (konzerthaus.de) when you book.

Highlights

Schinkel's facade

Schinkel's facade

An Ionic portico and a broad staircase open onto the Gendarmenmarkt, between the French and German cathedrals. It is one of the most photographed groups of buildings in the city.

The Konzerthausorchester Berlin

The house orchestra plays around fifty dates a season: about 55 concerts are listed between 17 September 2026 and 4 July 2027, most of them in Berlin.

The opening night

The Konzerthaus Kammerorchester opens the season on 17 September 2026 in the Kleiner Saal, from €22.05: a good way in on a small budget.

The guided tours

A tour of about 75 minutes, in German, with regular departures (2026 dates seen: a Saturday in May and a family tour on 28 June); check the site for the next slots.

The open-air concerts

In summer the music carries on in the square with the Classic Open Air (see concerts and shows in Berlin).

Practical info

Tips

  • A €22 concert in the Kleiner Saal is the cheapest way to see the interior. On resellers one evening on 8 September 2026 appeared from €53: always compare with the official box office. You can dine around the square the same evening, but book: see where to eat near the Brandenburg Gate. To compare with the other big concert hall, see the Philharmonie, and for the square itself the Gendarmenmarkt.

How to get there

Gendarmenmarkt 2, 10117 Berlin (Mitte). U6, Französische Straße station, or U2, Hausvogteiplatz station, then 3 to 5 minutes on foot.
