Museum of Illusions Berlin (Illuseum): tickets and family visit
Berlin's museum of illusions is now called Illuseum Berlin; you will still find it listed as "Museum of Illusions" on many booking platforms. It is at Karl-Liebknecht-Straße 9, a stone's throw from Alexanderplatz. It presents itself as the first museum in the world to combine optical illusions with ocean protection: each installation, from upside-down rooms to holograms, is also a way to talk about the sea and the environment. Allow about 1 hour for the visit: it is short, so easy to slot between other stops around Alexanderplatz, especially with children.
Highlights
The optical illusion installations
Tilted rooms, spaces where you seem to grow or shrink, pictures that change with the angle: the idea is to stage yourself for photos and videos, and to understand why the brain gets fooled.
The ocean message
Each space links an illusion to a marine theme; texts and animations explain what you perceive and what threatens the seas. The explanations are available through QR codes, so bring a charged smartphone.
The Illulab
A creative workshop space run by the museum, used for children's activities, birthday parties and holiday programmes.

Tips
- Prices vary with the day, the time and demand; the museum recommends booking online, where prices are generally lower than at the door. Children under 4 enter free; reduced prices exist for children from 4. The older prices shown in directories (about €15 for an adult, €11 for ages 4 to 14) are only a rough guide: check the official site for the date of your visit. If you prefer a platform, an [entry ticket to Illuseum Berlin](https://www.getyourguide.com/berlin-l17/berlin-illuseum-berlin-entrance-ticket-t286160/) is offered on GetYourGuide ("from" price shown on the page, to be checked); this page contains a partner link: if you book, we earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The museum is on one level and largely accessible to visitors with reduced mobility (accessible toilet, strollers welcome), with slight slopes in some rooms. For the rest of the day, see Alexanderplatz, the TV Tower and our guide Berlin with children; on a rainy day, Berlin when it rains and children's museums in Berlin.
