Panoramapunkt (Kollhoff Tower): tickets, opening hours and views of Berlin

Updated on October 15, 2026

The Panoramapunkt is the observation deck of the Kollhoff Tower on Potsdamer Platz. A lift billed as the fastest in Europe takes you up in about 20 seconds to more than 90 m, from where the view takes in the Brandenburg Gate, the Tiergarten, the TV Tower and the Memorial Church. It is one of Berlin's most accessible viewpoints, and one of the few with an open-air terrace. The deck is open every day from 10:00 to 19:00 (last ascent 18:30). Allow 45 minutes to 1 hour on site, café included.

Highlights

The Kollhoff Tower

The Kollhoff Tower

The dark brick building designed by Hans Kollhoff has dominated Potsdamer Platz since 1999. The Panoramapunkt occupies its top floors.

The lift and the terrace

The ride takes about 20 seconds. Up top, the open-air terrace gives a 360° view of the city: TV Tower, Brandenburg Gate, Memorial Church and the big green spaces of the centre.

The towers of Potsdamer Platz

From the deck you also see the district rebuilt in the 1990s: the Deutsche Bahn tower, glass office blocks and the square the Wall once crossed.

The "Berliner Blicke" exhibition

An exhibition tells the story of Potsdamer Platz: the buzzing crossroads of the 1920s, a no man's land in the Wall years, then the great building site of reunification.

The Panorama Café

The café, open 11:00 to 18:00, serves drinks, cakes and small dishes; access is included in the ticket.

Tips

  • Book online on the official Panoramapunkt website (panoramapunkt.de): the ticket covers the ascent, the deck, the exhibition and access to the café. Prices seen in October 2026 (confirm when you book): €9 adult, €7 reduced (pupils, students, people with a disability of 50% or more, Berlin-Pass holders), €19.50 family ticket (2 adults and up to 4 children under 15), free for children under 6. Groups of 15 or more get 10% off when booking online. VIP tickets, which skip the wait for the lift, also exist. A 360° panorama map (€3) and binocular hire (€2.50, with a deposit) are sold on site. To compare with the other viewpoints, read TV Tower or Reichstag dome and the best viewpoints in Berlin; the TV Tower is higher, but the queues are longer. For the square itself: Potsdamer Platz.
