Berlin Story Bunker: the "Hitler – wie konnte es geschehen" exhibition, tickets and visit
The Berlin Story Bunker occupies the former Anhalter Hochbunker, a civilian air-raid shelter built from 1941 on the grounds of the Anhalter railway station in Kreuzberg. It houses the documentation "Hitler – wie konnte es geschehen" (Hitler – how could it happen), spread over three levels of the bunker, with more than 3,000 m² and 38 themes: the rise of Nazism, the seizure of power, terror, war, down to Hitler's last refuge, the Führerbunker. It is a documentary and critical exhibition, dense with texts, photos, films and objects. To place what you see in the context of the city, read Berlin and the Second World War. Allow two to three hours. Open every day from 10am to 7pm (last entry 5:30pm), €18 full price, audio guide included (prices seen in October 2026).

The audio guides
Included in the ticket and free, they exist in twelve languages: German, English, Hebrew, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Danish, Ukrainian, Polish, Portuguese and Russian.

Tips
- Prices seen in October 2026: €18 full price, €12 reduced, audio guide included. Book online in advance: the ticket is valid on the day you choose. The bunker is not accessible to wheelchairs or pushchairs, and photography is not allowed inside. The subject is heavy (documents, images and accounts of Nazi violence): decide as a family what suits young children. The exhibition presents the history of Nazism in a critical, documented way. To go further, the Topography of Terror, on the site of the former Gestapo offices, is about 10 minutes' walk away. The Asisi Wall panorama and Checkpoint Charlie are in the same area.
