Asisi Panorama "The Wall" in Berlin: tickets, opening hours and visit
Yadegar Asisi's panorama "Die Mauer" (The Wall) fills a 360° steel rotunda at the corner of Friedrichstraße and Zimmerstraße, a few steps from Checkpoint Charlie. From a 4-metre-high platform you stand in the middle of a 1:1-scale image: an imaginary autumn day in 1980s Kreuzberg, with everyday life on both sides of the Wall. Two small photo exhibitions complete the visit. Allow about an hour. It is the shortest and most visual way to grasp the divided city, and works well with Checkpoint Charlie and its museum, which go into more detail but take longer. Open every day from 10am to 6pm, from €14 for an adult (prices seen in October 2026).
Highlights

The rotunda and a section of the Wall
The cylindrical building stands out from afar thanks to its posters and, in front of the entrance, a painted segment of the Wall.
The panorama from the platform
From the 4-metre platform you follow the scene at eye level: an imagined autumn day in the 1980s, with everyday life on each side of the Wall. A soundtrack accompanies the image (sound design by Eric Babak).
The photos of Berliners
One exhibition gathers about 80 private photos taken by residents when the Wall went up in 1961: personal viewpoints rather than official images. A second photo exhibition covers the construction of the Wall, life in the divided city and its fall.
