Marmorpalais (Marble Palace) in Potsdam: opening hours, prices and visiting the Neuer Garten

Updated on October 26, 2026

The Marmorpalais, or Marble Palace, stands on the Heiliger See in Potsdam's Neuer Garten, a World Heritage site. Frederick William II of Prussia had it built from 1787 to 1793: a red-brick and sandstone pavilion at the lake's edge, whose interior can only be visited with a guide. The surrounding park remains free to enter. Allow 1 hour for the guided visit, plus 1 to 2 hours for the park and Cecilienhof Palace.
