Museum für Kommunikation Berlin: tickets, opening hours and exhibitions

Updated on October 15, 2026

The Museum für Kommunikation, on Leipziger Straße in Mitte, is Berlin's museum of post and communication. It tells how people have written, spoken and connected, from the postal service to the smartphone via the telegraph and the telephone. Robots, hands-on stations and original temporary exhibitions make it an easy outing for families and rainy days. You can also see the most famous stamp in the world, the Blue Mauritius. The museum is open Tuesday to Friday 9:00 to 17:00 and at weekends 10:00 to 18:00, closed on Mondays. Allow 1.5 to 2 hours.

Highlights

The building

The building

The museum occupies a former postal administration building on Leipziger Straße, a short walk from Checkpoint Charlie.

The robots ROBerta and ROBert

Two robots greet visitors in the atrium: children love them, and they illustrate the role of machines in how we communicate.

The Blue Mauritius

This stamp, billed as the most famous in the world, is among the museum's rare treasures.

The permanent exhibition

It follows the history of communication across the centuries: post, telecommunications and information technology, with many interactive stations.

Temporary exhibitions

When we checked (October 2026), "Lucky Luke" was on until 28 March 2027; "Real Talk! Language. Power. World." is announced for November 2026 to February 2028.
