Einstein Tower Potsdam: can you go inside? Access and guided tours
The Einstein Tower (Einsteinturm) is a solar observatory designed by the architect Erich Mendelsohn on the Telegrafenberg in Potsdam, still tied to astrophysics research today. Short answer: you can see it from the outside for free in daytime, at any time; the interior can only be seen to a very limited extent, on guided tours. No price or fixed tour date is published (checked on 26 October 2026). The AIP institute's site only says the interior is partly accessible; other sources mention tours organised by Urania Potsdam (groups of 15 at most, price depending on numbers, tel. 0331 291741) and an undated listing reports tours suspended for building work: ask before you come.
Highlights

The tower from a distance
A white silhouette with expressionist curves in the middle of a wooded park; the best overall view is from the access path.

The rounded façades
The windows and sculpted shapes of the base are worth the trip on their own for architecture lovers.
The expressionist architecture
One of the most famous buildings of this movement, designed to test Einstein's theories using sunlight.
Open days
On 26 September 2026 the Einsteinturm was open free from 12:00 to 17:00 during the Telegrafenberg open day; that date has passed, watch for the next edition.

Tips
- For the interior, write or call Urania Potsdam before you come (0331 291741): price and dates depend on groups. There is no Tiqets ticket for this venue: the closest offer is an excursion to Potsdam with its palaces. The outside visit takes 15 to 30 minutes; combine it with Sanssouci, or with the New Palace if you have the whole day.
How to get there
Telegrafenberg, Potsdam (Albert Einstein Science Park). From Berlin, reach Potsdam Hauptbahnhof (RE1 or S7), then walk or take a bus up to the Telegrafenberg, a hill; check the route on the VBB site before leaving.
