Museum of Photography and Helmut Newton Foundation: Tickets, Opening Hours and Exhibitions
The Museum of Photography (Museum für Fotografie) occupies the former Landwehr officers' casino, a 1909 building on Jebensstraße just behind Zoologischer Garten station. It houses the Helmut Newton Foundation, created by the Berlin-born fashion and nude photographer so that his work would return to his home city, and the photography collections of the Berlin State Museums. Newton's large prints fill the foyer; the upper floors host temporary exhibitions. It is open Tuesday to Sunday and closed on Monday; a ticket costs €12 (reduced €6). Allow an hour and a half. The museum is closed from 16 November to 2 December 2026 for refurbishment.
