Museumspass Berlin: the essentials

The bust of Nefertiti in the Neues Museum

  • Price: €32, reduced €16 (pupils, students and other eligible visitors, with proof).
  • Duration: three consecutive days from the date you choose.
  • Access: more than 30 museums and exhibition venues; you enter with the pass, once per museum.
  • Permanent collections: the pass covers the permanent exhibitions; some special exhibitions require a timed ticket at extra cost.
  • Cancellation: a pass once bought cannot be refunded.

Which museums are included?

The pass covers the five buildings on Museum Island and the major state museums:

The list changes: the Pergamonmuseum is closed until 4 June 2027, and other venues (Museum Berggruen, Märkisches Museum) are listed as closed. Check the up-to-date list on the official website before buying. The Pergamon Panorama appears on some lists but not on others: check that too if it is what motivates you.

Museumspass or Museum Island ticket?

With a price of €14 per museum (€16 for the Alte Nationalgalerie):

Your plan Best choice
1 museum only Single museum ticket
2 museums Separate tickets (€28 to €30)
All the island's museums in one day Museum Island ticket, €24
3 or more museums in 3 days, at several sites Museumspass, €32
Museum Island and Kulturforum over 2 or 3 days Museumspass

The pass only really wins if you leave the island: three island museums alone cost less with the Museum Island ticket. Entry is free for under-18s in the state museums, without a pass.

How to use it without wasting time

  1. Choose the start date: the first day counts even if you only enter a museum in the afternoon.
  2. Note the closing days: the national museums close on Monday, others on Tuesday.
  3. Show the pass at the entrance of each museum; some ask you to collect a free ticket at the desk or online for a time slot.
  4. Schedule the most expensive museums first.
