Samurai Museum Berlin: tickets, opening hours and visit

Updated on October 15, 2026

The Samurai Museum Berlin, at Auguststraße 68 in the Mitte district, shows more than 4,000 historical objects from a thousand years of samurai history: armour, swords, masks and Japanese works of art. The route mixes original display cases with digital installations (holographic projections, touchscreens, gigapixel images), which makes for a lively visit even if you know nothing about feudal Japan. The museum is open every day from 10:00 to 19:00. Allow 1.5 to 2 hours for the visit, longer if you try every interactive installation.

Swords and weapons

Swords, blades and fighting equipment illustrate the smiths' craft and the place of the sword in warrior culture.

The Yokai cinema

A screening and show space devoted to creatures of Japanese folklore, popular with children and teenagers.
