Straße des 17. Juni Flea Market in Berlin: opening hours, access and tips

Updated on October 5, 2026

The Straße des 17. Juni flea market (Trödel- und Kunstmarkt) takes place every Saturday and Sunday next to Tiergarten S-Bahn station, on the edge of the park of the same name. It is one of the oldest flea markets in Berlin, with more than forty years of history, and it focuses more on antiques, porcelain, jewellery, books and art objects than the younger, livelier Mauerpark market. Entry is free, and you can walk around it in an hour or two.

Highlights

Antique and jewellery stalls

Antique and jewellery stalls

On long tables covered with cloths, dealers lay out old jewellery, watches, porcelain, dolls, fabrics, paintings and furniture. The market describes itself as one of Berlin's most traditional; people come for quality bric-a-brac rather than second-hand clothes, and haggling over the price is part of the game.

Books, records and curiosities

Books, records and curiosities

According to the City of Berlin, you can find almost everything, from second-hand goods to handmade objects, art and design: books, clothes, furniture, paintings, fabrics, dolls, porcelain, records and CDs. The tables of old tableware, glasses and small objects are the best stocked.

A human-sized market

The market is a reasonable size: you can walk from one end to the other without getting lost, which makes it easier to combine with another visit than the huge Mauerpark market.

Eating and drinking on the spot

Snack stands and restaurants nearby let you sit down. For a proper lunch, allow a few minutes' walk towards the Kurfürstendamm or Zoologischer Garten station.

The Tiergarten next door

After shopping, the Tiergarten begins on the other side of the road: paths, ponds and lawns where you can sit with your finds. The Victory Column and the Brandenburg Gate lie further east along the same avenue.

Opening hours and prices

Free entry. Open Saturday and Sunday, 10am to 5pm in summer and 10am to 4pm in winter, according to the City of Berlin (some sites give 10am-5pm all year). Dealers sometimes leave early when it rains or is very cold.

Practical info

Tips

Bring cash in small notes: many stalls have no card terminal, and prices can be politely negotiated. For comparison, the Mauerpark flea market is open on Sundays only and mixes objects, clothes and a party atmosphere. Sellers are private individuals and dealers: for a valuable item, check its condition before paying. Our guide to paying in Berlin explains where to keep cash.
