The highlight: the brewery and the beer
The BRLO brewery tour at the foot of Gleisdreieck park is the cheapest and best-rated offer in its category: about 1 hour 30, 5 beers and snacks, from €18. Under-16s are not admitted. For a fuller evening, a 3-hour tasting walk in Friedrichshain (9 craft beers and a snack) is listed from €119 per person, and a private tasting in the old town from about €218, price to check for your group size. The comparison is in beer tasting in Berlin: which offer?. To drink outdoors, see the beer gardens.
Boat, party tram and other ideas
- Spree cruise: the boat comparison gives durations and prices; the solar catamaran, about 2 hours 30, takes around thirty passengers at most according to resellers and suits a small group.
- Private "Berlinerfahrbar" tram: the BVG used to rent a tram for private parties, 90 minutes minimum, €165 Monday to Thursday and €190 Friday to Sunday (2024 rate; neither availability nor price confirmed for 2026).
- Beer bike: allowed in Berlin only under conditions, with some streets off limits; the driver must stay sober and spirits are excluded. Its status has been challenged in court and the outcome is not confirmed: check with the operator before booking.
- Pub crawl: plenty exist, with very mixed reviews (poor organisation and disappointing drinks in some); read recent ratings before paying.
- Escape rooms and workshops: they exist in Berlin, but we did not find reliable prices; compare on the venues' own sites.
Going out: bars, Spätis and clubs
Berlin has no legal closing time for bars, and Spätis sell takeaway beer at night. The bar districts (Kreuzberg, Friedrichshain, Neukölln) are described in Berlin at night, and rooftops suit a group that wants to sit down.
For clubs, read the door rules before planning: bouncers refuse without explanation, and arriving as two or three, calm and simply dressed, helps far more than a group of eight in costumes. Photos are banned in most clubs. Plan bars as a fallback for the whole evening.
Rules to know before you go
- Alcohol: allowed in the street and in parks, banned on BVG buses, trams and metro; 16 for beer and wine, 18 for spirits. See drinking in the street in Berlin.
- Cannabis: read the rules in Berlin before smoking as a group.
- Bottles: return or leave deposit bottles (Pfand).
- Noise and manners: no shouting in apartment courtyards at night; see etiquette rules.
- Safety: go home as a group; see safety in Berlin at night.
