Crowds and prices in April
April is a middle month: queues are reasonable on weekdays, but sunny weekends draw crowds to parks and terraces. In 2027 Easter falls on 28 March, so Good Friday (26 March) and Easter Monday (29 March) are in March, not April. Berlin's Easter school holidays fall around that date and demand for rooms rises; check the state's official calendar. April 2027 events
Cherry blossom
Blossom usually starts around mid-April and lasts about three weeks, depending on when the cold ends. The best-known spots are the cherry avenue on the Mauerweg between Lichterfelde and Teltow, the Gardens of the World in Marzahn, which hosts a cherry blossom festival (Kirschblütenfest) each spring, and the streets of Friedrichshain near the Oberbaumbrücke. Berlin Half Marathon: Sunday 4 April
The Generali Berliner Halbmarathon is announced for Sunday 4 April 2027. The course crosses the centre; streets are closed for part of the morning, which makes bus and car trips harder. Plan on the U-Bahn and S-Bahn.

- Layers: a jumper, a windproof jacket and something light for mild afternoons.
- A waterproof jacket or small umbrella: showers are brief but frequent.
- Comfortable shoes: you will walk a lot, and parks can stay muddy.
- Sunglasses: the light is bright by the end of the month.

- Parks: the Tiergarten, Tempelhofer Feld and Gleisdreieck park turn green; the botanical garden is a good choice in light rain.
