Admiralbrücke and Landwehrkanal in Berlin: Walk, Kayak and Tips (2026)
The Landwehrkanal, which runs through Kreuzberg, is best discovered on foot along its quays, by kayak or from the Admiralbrücke, the oldest surviving wrought-iron bridge on the canal, a listed monument. On summer evenings this bridge is a very popular meeting spot. To get on the water, a kayak operator starts from Carl-Herz-Ufer in Kreuzberg: two to three hour trips, from 25 euros according to the site consulted (third-party figure, to confirm). The Spree motor boats do not run on the canal: for a classic cruise, see the Spree.
Highlights

The view from the bridge
From the Admiralbrücke, the tree-lined canal with its paved banks runs off into the Kreuzberg districts: one of the finest views in the area.

The bridge and its bollards
The bridge mixes cobbles, stone bollards and late 19th-century buildings; it remains a meeting point in Kreuzberg.
Kayaking on the canal
A two to three hour kayak trip links the Kreuzberg bridges and passes, according to the operator, near the spot where Rosa Luxemburg was thrown into the water in 1919.
The Turkish market at Maybachufer
Along the canal, a large market takes place on Tuesday and Friday: see the Turkish market at Maybachufer page.
